Mendham captures Pooley trophy, Montville wins


Mendham edged West Morris 7-6 to capture the Pooley Cup in boys lacrosse on Saturday.

Quinn Cembrinski and Jack Anderson scored two goals each. Kevin Sansome, Will Trinkoff and Kyle Garrison added goals for the Minutemen. Gary Izzo had a hat trick and Jake Ligos scored twice for West Morris.

Montville 6, Boonton 4

Sean Enright had two goals and one assist and Jason Archer had a goal and an assist to lift the Mustangs. Frank Rao scored twice for the Bombers.

Roxbury 13, Jefferson 1

Paul Shadel, Dave Biank and Eric D’Arminio had hat tricks for the Gaels.

Delbarton 11, Malvern Prep 9

Colin Crowley had three goals and two assists and Tom Schelling and Garrett Samielson added hat tricks for the Green Wave. Delbarton is 7-1.

Morristown 9,  Kinnelon 2

Joe Doherty’s 4-goal effort sparked the Colonials. Kendall Rogers added a hat trick for Morristown. Kyle Belanger scored twice for the Colts.

Morris Knolls 8, Morris Hills 5

Parker Campbell scored four goals to fuel the Golden Eagles. Shane Dougherty added two goals and Cole Franchi dished three assists for Morris Knolls. Jacob Sarrel scored twice for the Scarlet Knights.

Mountain Lakes 9, Bergen Catholic 3

Hunter Batesko scored three times and John Natoli had two goals and three assists for the Lakers (8-1).

Passaic Tech 8, Parsippany 4

Patrick Lanigan fired a hat trick for the Red Hawks.

Caldwell 10, Pequannock 4

Jared Dolak and Wade Slavik had two goals apiece for the Golden Panthers.

Sparta 16, Morristown-Beard 13

Connor Morin had four goals and five assists and Sam Hatfield had three goals and two assists for the Crimson.

Chatham 8, Summit 2

Mac Bredahl had three goals and three assists to pace the Cougars.

Chatham led 7-1 at the half. The Cougars are 8-1 on the season.


Morris County Tournament

Pequannock 16, St. Elizabeth 3

Lexi Robinson and Sara Horgan scored five goals each for the 15th seeded Golden Panthers. Samantha Murphy added four goals an four assists. Pequannock, the 15th-seed plays second-seeded Chatham next.

Jefferson 9, Park Regional 1

Megan Smith and Alexa Kolodzej had hat tricks for the 16th-seeded Falcons. Amanda Hoberman scored the lone goal for Park. Jefferson plays top-seeded Morristown next.

Madison 19, Parsippany 2

Chloe O’Connell and Catherine Crowley had hat tricks for the 10th-seeded Dodgers. Madison plays seventh-seeded Roxbury in the next round.

Regular season

Livingston 20, Villa Walsh 9

Victoria Colleged had three goals and Margaret McGinn had two goals and two assists.

Westfield 20, West Morris 14

Lauren Hamilton and Cassidy Orban had five goals each for the Wolfpack.
