Morristown earns top seed in MCT

Morristown was named top seed in the Morris County Girls Lacrosse Tournament at the seeding meeting held at Parsippany High School on Thursday.

Chatham earned the second seed followed by Mendham andMountain Lakes. West Morris, Randolph, Roxbury and Morris Knolls round out the top eight.

Preliminary round play begins this weekend with seven preliminary round games on the schedule. It will end with the championship game scheduled for May 6 at Montville High School. Mountain Lakes was last year’s champion. The Lakers defeated Chatham 7-6 in overtime.

The records given were the team records at the time of the seeding.

Winner of No. 17 Park Regional (6-0) and No. 16 Jefferson (5-4) plays at No. 1 Morristown (8-1).

No. 9 Mount Olive (4-2) plays at No. 8 Morris Knolls (4-3).

Winner of No. 21 Morris Hills (2-7) and No. 12 Morris Catholic (4-5) plays at No. 5 West Morris (1-7).

Winner of No. 20 Parsippany Hills (3-3) and No. 13 Kinnelon (3-5) plays at No. 4 Mountain Lakes (2-6).

Winner of No. 19 Villa Walsh (1-6) at No. 14 Montville (4-4) plays at No. 3 Mendham (4-5).

Winner of No. 22 Boonton (0-7) and No. 11 Morristown-Beard (3-3) plays at No. 6 Randolph (5-1).

Winner of No. 23 Parsippany (0-4) at No. 10 Madison (3-3) plays at No. 7 Roxbury (5-2).

Winner of No. 18 St. Elizabeth (6-1) at No. 15 Pequannock (2-4) plays at No. 2 Chatham (5-3).
