Kinnelon boys stun MO; Mt. Lakes, West Morris advance

Joseph Ballai and Tyler Lewis fired hat tricks to lift Kinnelon to a 10-6 upset victory over Mount Olive in opening round Morris County Tournament boys lacrosse action. Mike Elefonte had two goals and three assists for 10th-seeded Kinnelon. Kinnelon led 5-2 at the half and maintained an advantage the rest of the way. Tyler McCreery and Griffin Shira scored two goals each for the seventh-seeded Marauders.

Mountain Lakes 10, Morris Knolls 4

Cade Siddron scored twice and had one assist to pace a balanced Lakers attack. John Spagnola, Hunter Batesko and Trevor Benedetto added two goals apiece for the second-seeded Lakers. Mountain Lakes plays 10th-seeded Kinnelon next. Cole Franchi had a goal and an assist for the 15th-seeded Golden Eagles.

Randolph 13, Roxbury 4

Jake Southren fired a hat trick and Max Pinilis had two goals and two assists for the ninth-seeded Rams. Luc Swedlund added a goal and two assists and Zach Shuster and Matt Holland added two goals each for Randolph (8-5). The Rams face top-seeded Delbarton next. Matt Dancsecs, Paul Shadel, Eric D’Arminio and Dave Biank connected for Roxbury.

Chatham 13, Montville 4

The Cougars improve to 10-5. Austin Pierce had five goals and one assist to spark third-seeded Chatham. Mac Bredahl added three goals and two assists for the Cougars. Chatham led 8-1 at the half. Pat Giaquinto, Graham Jesperson, Alec Lewis and Cameron Zurawiow connected for the 13th-seeded Mustangs.

Madison 12, Morristown-Beard 7

Hat tricks by Pat Grahling and Justin Dalena paced the sixth-seeded Dodgers. Matt Jackson added two goals and three assists and Charlie Cleaves and Jack Thompson added goals. Madison (11-4) faces Chatham next. Brad Dallas had a pair of goals for the 11th-seeded Crimson. Madison is 11-4.

Morristown 13, Pequannock 4

The Colonials are 12-1 on the year. Brad Greik and Tom Ferrara each had two goals and one assist for fifth seeded Morristown. Connor Schwerdt and Andrew Chilson also notched a pair of goals. Morristown plays West Morris next. Dan Duffy and Liam Lilienthal both scored twice for the Golden Panthers.

West Morris 18, Mendham 6

Cooper Sloan had five goals and three assists as the Wolpack pounded their sister-school rivals. Ryan Antonelle added four goals and two assists and Ryan Pruss had a hat trick for fourth-seeded West Morris. Dave Robshaw scored twice for 13th-seeded Mendham.

Monday

Delbarton 19, Jefferson 4

The top-seeded and defending champion Green Wave took control early.
