Morris Knolls boys, Pequannock girls advance in MCT

Steve Dougherty scored four goals and notched three assists to lift Morris Knolls to a 9-1 win over Morris Hills in preliminary round Morris Count Tournament boys lacrosse action.

Scott Wells and Andrew Yenesel scored two goals each for the Golden Eagles (7-4). Morris Knolls, the No. 15 seed, faces second-seeded Mountain Lakes in the next round.

Morristown Beard 22, Parsippany 1

Connor Morin, Kevin Gill and Harris Johnson scored two goals apiece in the Crimson’s MCT triumph. It is the inaugural MCT game for the Red Hawks.

Pequannock 15, Parsippany Hills 1

Matt Gallo, Dan Duffy and Jared Dolak scored two goals each and Liam Lilienthal dished four assists for the 12th-seeded Golden Panthers. Pequannock faces fifth seeded Morristown next. It was the inaugural appearance in the MCT for the Vikings.

Regular Season

Park Regional 17, Hackettstown 13

Kevin Göettlich and Jake Crane scored four goals each and Jimmy Fortier fired a hat trick for Park. The co-op team of Hanover Park and Whippany Park players remains unbeaten at 11-0.

Jefferson 12, Newton 5

The Falcons are 10-1. Ian Prezwodek had four goals and Zak Sparks notched a hat trick for Jefferson. Goalkeeper Brandon Vance stopped 10 shots. The team were tied 3-3 at the half before the Falcons pulled away.

St. Peter’s Prep 13, Montville 8

Graham Jesperson notched four goals for the Mustangs.

Morris Catholic 13, High Point 5

Adam Wagner’s four-goal performance lifted the Crusaders. A 5-2 third-quarter effort helped Morris Catholic pull away.

Roxbury 13, Vernon 12

The Gaels are 9-4 and clinched a share of the NJAC Freedom with the win. Matt Dancsecs scored four times and Eric D’Arminio had three goals and two assists.

Sparta 7, Madison 4

Matt Jackson, Justin Dalena, Pat Grahling and Ian Waresk connected for the Dodgers.

Girls Lacrosse

Morris County Tournament

Pequannock 11, Madison 10

Arden Kassaleh’s 200th goal helped the Golden Panthers edge the Dodgers in an MCT preliminary round game. Kassaleh scored five goals and Lauren Burklow and Brielle Peters scored two goals each for the ninth-seeded Golden Panthers.

Pequannock plays Mountain Lakes in the quarterfinal round. Catherine Crowley had four goals and two assists, Leah Rutland and Lauren Kaye scored two goals each.

Summit 11, Chatham 3

Bridget Ballard, Schuyler Bixby and Alex Frenzel connected for the Cougars (7-4).

Kittatinny 16, St. Elizabeth 6

Bella Ferriso, Elizabeth Scalaro and Mia Ferriso had two goals apiece for the Panthers.

West Morris 11, West Essex 10

The Wolfpack led 6-3 at the break. West Morris improves to 4-6.
