Kinnelon pulls MCT upset; Chatham, Mendham advance

Victoria Bobinski scored five goals to lift Kinnelon to an 11-7 upset victory over Roxbury in Morris County Tournament girls lacrosse opening round action on Saturday.

Ana Berezni scored twice and Ashley Bobinski, Jamie Lewit, Izzy Berezni and Katie Bonanno also tallied for the 10th-seeded Colts. Chelsea Artigliere and Mia Sadowski had two goals each for the seventh-seeded Gaels.

Chatham 15, Montville 5

Bridget Ballard had four goals as the second-seeded Cougars dismissed the 15th-seeded Mustangs. Zoe Kraus had a hat trick and Alex Krenzel and Beth Kuyk had two goals each. Claudia Triunfo had a hat trick for Montville.

Morristown 14, Jefferson 3

Callie Sundin’s five-goal performance paced the fifth-seeded Colonials. Nicole Ferrara had a hat trick and Victoria Ferrara, Annika Begley and Sarah Grace Plott scored two goals each for the Colonials. Megan Smith, Jenna Prezwodek and Brianne Sekula connected for the 12th-seeded Falcons.

Mendham 16, Morris Catholic 12

Meredith Curtin had four goals to spark the third-seeded Minutemen. Kelly McIntyre fired a hat trick and Christine Long, Katie McDonald, Megan McKeon and Brooke Phillips had two goals each. Haley Driscoll scored five times for the 14th-seeded Crusaders.

Mount Olive 15, Morris Knolls 7

The Marauders improve to 11-0. Sarah McEvoy scored six goals and Amber Gonzalez had a hat trick to spark sixth-seeded Mount Olive. Gina Verrone had two goals and two assists and Grace Kim added a pair of goals for Mount Olive. Krista Mitarotonda had a hat trick for the 11th-seeded Golden Eagles.

Mountain Lakes 15, Villa Walsh 0

The top-seeded Lakers are 9-2. Sarah Bedard had a hat trick and scored her 100th goal. Sarah Monteleone led all scorers with four goals and Grainger Rosati notched a hat trick.

Regular season

Morris HIlls 15, Boonton 0

Nicole Rizzo scored four goals in the Scarlet Knights romp. Shaye Clark and Kellyann Gangaware added hat tricks for Morris Hills.
