Par Hills tops Parsippany; Chatham, Jefferson win

Don Bendzak scored the game winner with 44 seconds left remaining to lift Parsippany Hills to a 12-11 victory over Parsippany in the inaugural varsity game for both boys lacrosse programs.

Bendzak scored seven goals including the game-tying goal with 3:15 and the game-winner that was assisted by Sean Rice.

Patrick Lanagan scored five goals and Joe Stanton had a hat trick for the Red Hawks.

Jefferson 12, Lenape Valley 3

Peter Chrzanowski had six goals and two assists and Alex Leming had two goals and five assists for the Falcons. Brandon Vance stopped 13 shots for Jefferson.

Chatham 10, Pequannock 6

Austin Pierce, Mac Bredahl, Nate Carson and Matt Coleman scored two goals each in the Cougars triumph.

Chatham vaulted to a 4-0 first-quarter lead. Liam Lilienthal had a hat trick for the Golden Panthers.

Pope John 7, Montville 6, OT

Tom Ackway fired a hat trick and Graham Jespersen had a goal and two assists.

Morris Knolls 12, Nutley 3

Shane Dougherty scored six goals and Scot Wells added a hat trick for the Golden Eagles. Morris Knolls pulled away with an 8-goal third quarter.

Roxbury 9, Mount Olive 8

Eric D’Arminio had three goals and two assists and Dave Biank and Paul Shadel scored two goals each in the Gaels come-from -behind win.

Alex Maya, Adam Gonzalez and Tyler McReery scored two goals each for the Marauders.

Summit 7, Delbarton 6, 3 OT

Corey McManus scored the game-winner for the Hilltoppers. Michael Rutter fired a hat trick and Rory Madigan scored twice for the Green Wave.

Boonton 7, Passaic Valley 6

Ted Betsy connected with three minutes left for the deciding goal. Connor Davis had three goals and Austin Van Zant scored twice to spark the come-from-behind win. Jacob Feeland had 13 saves for the Bombers.

Cherry Creek (Colo), 10 Mountain Lakes 8

Chet Morgis had a hat trick and Hunter Betesko scored twice to help the Lakers. Ryan Frawley added a goal and two assists for Mountain Lakes.

Morris Hills 7, Governor Livingston 3

Patrick Delle fired a hat trick, Jack Binkoski had two goals and two assists and Matt Vicari had a goal and an assist for the Scarlet Knights.

Madison 10, West Windsor South 1

Pat Grahling and Ian Waresk fired hat tricks to pace the Dodgers. Justin Dalena and Ryan Schmitz added two goals apiece for Madison in the season opener.

Westfield 16, Mendham 3

Drew Robshaw and Peter Roche connected for the Minutemen.
