Delbarton, Mt. Lakes, Mo-Beard eliminated in states

Jeremy Magno’s goal with 2:06 left in the fourth quarter provided the deciding score in Bergen Catholic’s 15-14 win over Delbarton in Non Public A boys lacrosse action on Wednesday.

Bergen Catholic led 10-5 at the half and withstood a six-goal barrage by the defending state champion Green Wave in the fourth quarter. Andrew Ford scored four goals and Connor Kirst and Ryan Onderdonk fired hat tricks for Delbarton. The Green Wave finishes at 17-2.

Group I

Rumson-Fair Haven 9, Mountain Lakes 8, OT

Charlie Curran scored both game-tying and gave winning goals for Rumson. The winner was scored with 15 seconds left in the overtime period. He tied the game with 57 seconds left in regulation.

The game was delayed two hours total by several weather delays. Ryan Frawley had three goals and one assist and Brad Smith had two goals and three assists for Mountain Lakes. The Lakers finish at 16-6.

Non Public B Final

Pingry 14, Morristown-Beard 8

Thomas Rago scored four goals and John McDonald had a hat trick for the Crimson. Jimmy Kellog and Bradley Finnegan also tallied and Teddy Hatfield had a pair of assists for Morristown-Beard. The Crimson fell behind 7-4 at the half and couldn’t regroup. The Big Blue pulled away led by Clay McCollum’s six goals. Morristown-Beard finished at 17-5.
