Mendham, Mt. Olive, Morristown boys advance in states

Morriscountylacrosse

Mark Laratta had a goal and two assists to lift Mount Olive to a 5-4 win over Montville in Group III state tournament boys lacrosse action.

Matt Sanchez and Alex Maya had a goal and an assist for the Marauders. Brendan Kelly scored twice for the Mustangs.

Morristown 14, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 6

The Colonials are 9-7. Dan Delargy fired a hat trick and dished two assists for Morristown. Noah Suskin and Kendall Rogers notched hat tricks and Joe Doherty scored twice for the Colonials.

Mendham 12, Morris Knolls 1

Drew Robshaw scored four goals and Chandler Avellone had a hat trick for the Minutemen. Scott Baker had two goals and one assist and goalkeeper Nikalas Hedengren stopped 19 shots for Mendham.

Randolph 10, Millburn 4

Jake Southren’s hat trick helped the Rams advance in tournament play. Luc Swedlund had two goals and one assist and Max Pinilis and Brian Gleeson had a goal and an assist for Randolph.

Group II

Chatham 16, Morris Hills 2

Austin Pierce fired a hat trick for the Cougars. Matt Coleman, Robert Rhoads, Will Barnett and Thomas Berger scored two goals each for Chatham. Zach Berkowitz notched a pair of goals for the Scarlet Knights.

Group I

Waldwick 16, Boonton 8

Joe Norton scored three times for the Bombers (10-10).

Kinnelon 15, Pascack Valley 2

The Colts are 5-10. John Belanger scored seven goals and Travis Rode added a pair of scores for Kinnelon.

Pequannock 14, Verona 2

The Golden Panthers led 8-2 at the half. Dan Duffy had five goals and an assist and Liam Lilienthal had three goals and three assists for Pequannock.

Mountain Lakes 15, Kittatinny 2

Avery Kaplan scored four goals to pace the Lakers. Brad Smith had two goals and four assists and Ryan Frawley had two goals and one assist for top-seeded Mountain Lakes.
