Chatham, Delbarton advance to MCT title game

Matt Coleman and Evan Bernard scored two goals apiece to lift Chatham to a 5-1 victory over Mountain Lakes in boys lacrosse action Saturday on the turf in Madison.

Will Barnett added a goal and the goalkeeping tandem of Matt Nestler and Matt Grilli stopped eight shots between them for the third-seeded Cougars (10-8). It is the second time in three years that the Chatham has advanced to the title game. Ryan Frawley connected off a Chet Morgis feed for the second-seeded Lakers (12-4) lone goal.

Delbarton 16, Morristown-Beard 9

Andrew Ford scored four goal and led a balanced Green Wave effort. The defending champions trailed 2-0 but ended the half scoring seven consecutive goals.

Emmett Cordrey fired a hat trick, T. J. Comizio had two goals and two assists an Ryan Onderdonk and Michael Rutter each scored twice for top-seeded Delbarton (13-1).

Thomas Rago had three goals and two assists, Kevin Gill had three goals for the fourth-seeded Crimson (13-3).

Regular season

Madison 10, Pequannock 5

Vince Sapio scored five goals to lift the Dodgers. A.J. Schmitz and Ethan Tannen added a goal and an assist each and goalkeeper Nick DiLauri stopped 11 shots for Madison (10-5). Jesse Yurga had a pair of goals for the Golden Panthers.

Mount Olive 8, Kinnelon 4

Mark Laratta fired a hat trick to spark the Marauders. Mount Olive rallied from a 4-2 first-quarter deficit and scored six consecutive goals to secure the win. Matthew Sanchez added two goals and two assists and Alex Maya had a pair of assists for Mount Olive (9-6).

West Morris 13, Caldwell 6

Garrett Izzo scored four goals and Ryan Antonelle had three goals and two assists to fuel the Wolfpack.

Cooper Sloan added a hat trick and Kyle Skurchak had two goals and an assist for West Morris. The Wolfpack led 6-2 at the half.
