Favorites advance in boys MCT quarterfinals


Thomas Rago and Chris Glancy fired hat tricks to lift Morristown-Beard to a 15-6 victory in Morris County Tournament quarterfinal round action.

Teddy Hatfield, Connor Morin and Peter Kapsimalis scored two goals each and John MacDonald had a goal and four assists including his 200th point. The fourth-seeded Crimson are 13-2.

Chatham 14, Randolph 5

Will Barnett had five goals and one assist to spark the third-seeded Cougars. Austin Pierce had four goals and one assist, Matt Coleman had two goals and six assists and Thomas Berger scored twice for Chatham (10-8). Luc Swedlund scored twice for the 11th-seeded Rams.

Mountain Lakes 18, Madison 8

Brad Smith scored five goals to fuel the Lakers’ triumph. Zander Kotsen and Brendan Monteleone each registered hat tricks and Brad Landry and Chiso Egbuchalam notched two goals apiece.The second-seeded Lakers are 12-3. Mountain Lakes hosts Chatham in Saturday’s semifinal at Madison High School.A. J. Schmitz had two goals and two assists and Vince Sapio and Pat Grabling each scored two goals.

Delbarton 19, Mount Olive 4

Ryan Onderdonk scored seven goals to lift the top-seeded and defending champion Green Wave. Connor Kirst scored five goals and Emmet Cordrey had two goals and three assists. Adam Gonzales, Nick Karle and Mark Laratta each scored goals for the Marauders. Delbarton hosts Morristown-Beard in semifinal action on Saturday.

Regular season 

Boonton 16, High Point 1

Joe Norton and Frank Rao scored four goals each and Nick Lourick had three goals and three assists for the Bombers.

River Dell 16, Park Regional 5

Kevin Goettlich scored four goals and Jimmy Fortier added a goal and an assist for  Park.

Mendham 10, Roxbury 9

Chandler Avallone and Jack Anderson each registered hat tricks for the Minutemen. The win lifted Mendham to 4-10. Drew Robshaw and Kyle Garrison scored two goals each and goalie Niklas Hedengren stopped 22 shots. Paul Shadel scored three goals for the Gaels.

Jefferson 17, Paramus 5

Matt Bush scored six goals and had three assists and Trevor Rozmus added five goals for Jefferson (11-7).
