Morristown girls advance to first MCT semifinal

Morristown qualified for the Morris County Tournament semifinals for the first time in school history with an 11-9 win over West Morris in girls lacrosse action on Tuesday.

Meghan Siverson scored four goals and freshman Annika Begley had three goals and two assists for the fifth-seeded Colonials.

Sarah Frankovic had three goals and an assist for fourth-seeded West Morris.

Chatham 14, Madison 6

Maggie O’Neill’s hat trick sparked the top-seeded Cougars to victory. Bridget Ballard had two goals and three assists and Beth Kuyk scored twice. Catherine Crowley and Amanda DaSilva scored two goals apiece for the ninth-seeded Dodgers. Chatham plays Morristown in the semifinal.

Mendham 15, Morris Catholic 14

Giuliana Durso made 10 saves including a free position stop in the final seconds to lift the Minutemen. Christine Graziano scored five goals, Carrie Speicher had three goals and two assists and Meri Curtin, Kolina Unger and Christine Long had two goals each. Mendham, the third seed, plays Mountain Lakes in the semifinal round.

Lexi Finn had three goals and seven assists, Haley Driscoll had four goals and one assist and Rachel Mills and Taylor Skawinsk contributed hat tricks for 11th-seeded Morris Catholic.
