Morris Knolls boys, Mountain Lakes girls triumph


Sophomore Shane Dougherty scored seven goals and Matt Mitarotonda had six goals and an assist to lift Morris Knolls to a 19-5 win over Morrist Catholic in Morris County Tournament boys lacrosse action on Thursday.

Morris Knolls led 11-2 at the half. Andrew Yenesel had two goals and four assists and Max Boralsky added two goals for the 13th-seeded Golden Eagles. Morris Knolls plays fourth seeded Morristown-Beard next. Danny Dunn fired a hat trick and Justin Douville and Connor Fitzpatrick also connected for the 20th-seeded team.

Girls Lacrosse

Regular Season

West Essex 13, Chatham 12

Emily Wingate scored four goals and Zoe Kraus notched a hat trick for the Cougars. Bridget Ballard added a goal and two assists for Chatham.

Montclair 15, Montville 4

The Mustangs are 3-10 on the season.

Westfield 13, West Morris 8

Sarah Frankovic fired a hat trick for the Wolfpack.

Summit 16, Mendham 8

The Minutemen are 6-8 on the season.

Mountain Lakes 14, Glen Ridge 11

The win lifts the Lakers to 6-8.

Madison 7, Roxbury 6

The Dodgers are 8-5 on the season.

Vernon 14, Boonton 2

Chelsea Davis scored both goals for the Bombers.

Wayne Hills 19, Morristown-Beard 10

Chelsea Kramer scored two goals including her 100th career goal. Alissa Masini scored six goals for the Crimson.
