Delbarton edges Mt. Lakes; Chatham stuns Mo Beard


Andrew Ford and Connor Kirst fired hat tricks and Delbarton withstood a late rally to defeat Mountain Lakes 7-6 in boys lacrosse action on Saturday.

Ryan Onderdonk also added a goal for the Green Wave. Delbarton led 7-3 going into the fourth quarter. Mountain Lakes rallied for three consecutive goals and had the ball with a man-advantage in the final minute of regulation but the Delbarton defense held. Ryan Frawley scored twice and John Becker, Brad Landry, Will Rachford and Anthony Smith connected for the Lakers.

Chatham 12, Morristown-Beard 11

The Cougars rallied from a 9-6 fourth-quarter deficit to stun the Crimson. Austin Pierce scored three goals including the game-winner with four seconds remaining for Chatham. Matt Coleman added four goals, Will Barnett had two goals and three assists and Thomas Berger had four assists for the Cougars (5-7). Teddy Hatfield had three goals and four assists and Thomas Rago had three goals and an assist for Morristown-Beard (9-2).

Morris Catholic 15, High Point 3

Matt Graziano scored four goals and dished five assists, and Adam Wagner had four goals and an assist to lift the Crusaders. Justin Douville had three goals and four assists, Danny Dunn had two goals and two assists and Dan Gates had two goals for Morris Catholic.

Mount Olive 9, Pequannock 6

Nick Karle’s five-goal performances lifted the Marauders. Griffen Shira had two goals and an assist for Mount Olive. The Marauders led 5-3 at the half. Matt Gallo and Dan Duffy scored two goals each for Pequannock.

Morris Knolls 6, Randolph 5

Reed Pelliconi connected off an Andrew Yenesel pass with 1:46 left in regulation to lift the Golden Eagles. Morris Knolls rallied from a 5-3 halftime deficit. Shane Dougherty had three goals and an assist to pace the Golden Eagles. Luc Swedlund scored twice for Randolph.

Kinnelon 7, Mendham 3

The Colts evened their mark at 4-4. Nick Labanca had three goals and an assist and Eric Hausser scored twice for Kinnelon. Scott Baker had a pair of goals for the Minutemen.

Sparta 16, Madison 10

Vince Sapio scored five goals and A. J. Schmitz had three goals and three assists for the Dodgers.

Morris Hills 10, Boonton 4

Zach Berkowitz had three goals and three assists to fuel the Scarlet Knights. Jack Binkoski added three goals and an assist and Patrick McAndrew had two goals and one assist. Joe Norton had a hat trick for the Bombers.


Montville 7, Jefferson 1

Brendan Kelly scored four goals and added an assist in the Mustangs’ triumph. Pat Sauerborn and Cameron Zurawlow each added a goal and an assist and goalie Vin Groely made five saves for Montville.

West Morris 11, Morristown 2

Cooper Sloan and Garrett Izzo scored three goals apiece to lift the Wolfpack. Kyle Skurchak added a pair of goals and Cole Draghi, Pat Kennedy and Cameron Beltran also connected for West Morris. Noah Suskin and Joe Doherty scored for Morristown.
