Morris Hills tops Park; Chatham, Jefferson roll


Zach Berkowitz scored six goals and added one assist to lead Morris Hills to a 10-7 victory over Park Regional in boys lacrosse action on Saturday.

Logan Sickles added a pair of goals and Jacob Sarrel and J. P. Costanzo also connected for the Scarlet Knights (1-1). Morris Hills led 6-4 at the half and the teams exchanged goals the rest of the way. Kevin Gottlich and Jason Turiansky scored two goals each for Park (1-1).

Chatham 9, Mount Olive 6

The Cougars are 2-0. Austin Pierce and Evan Bernard fired hat tricks for Chatham. Robert Rhoads added two goals and Will Barnett had five assists. Mark Laratta had a hand in all of the Marauders scoring with four goals and two assists.

Jefferson 10, Indian Hills 1

Matt Bush scored four times to pace the Falcons. Peyton Faasse added three assists for Jefferson, which led 4-1 at halftime. Goalie John Malley stopped 12 of 13 shots on goal. The Falcons are 1-1.

Caldwell 6, Pequannock 5

Bryan Peters scored twice for the Golden Panthers. Pequannock falls to 0-2.

Morris Catholic 13, Kittatinny 7

Danny Dunn scored four times in the Crusaders’ triumph. He also snagged 11 ground balls. Matt Graziano had four goals and three assists and Justin Douville had two goals and two assists for Morris Catholic.

Delbarton 19, Don Bosco Prep 10

Emmet Cordrey and Troy Hanlon fired hat tricks for the top ranked Green Wave. T.J. Comizio had seven assists. Keegan Khan, Connor Kirst, Ryan Onderdonk and Michael Rutter scored two goals apiece for Delbarton (2-0).

Madison 16, Pope John 3

Vince Sapio and A. J. Schmitz scored four goals each to lift the Dodgers to their first win of the season. Madison’s 8-goal burst gave it a 9-2 advantage at the half. Schmitz also had three assists and Justin Dalena and Ryan Schmitz scored two goals each. Goalkeeper Jack Spagnoletti had nine saves.

Morristown-Beard 12, Sparta 6

The Crimson are 2-0. Teddy Hatfield scored six goals and had two assists, Conor Morin had four goals and John McDonald had two goals and four assists.

Howell 8, Randolph 7

Jake Southren had a hat trick and Max Pinilis scored twice for the Rams.

Pingry 8, West Morris 5

The Wolfpack trailed 5-3 at the half and never caught up. West Morris is 0-1 on the season.

Mountain Lakes 13, Mendham 0

Ryan Frawley fired a hat trick. Brad Smith, Trevor Benedetto and Avery Kaplan added two goals apiece for the Lakers. Goalkeeper Kevin Beimfohr earned the shutout on four saves.

Roxbury, Glen Rock (to be reported).
