Chatham, Morris Catholic, Morris Hills girls prevail

Bridget Ballard scored five goals to lift Chatham to a 15-3 win over Madison in girls lacrosse action on Friday.

The Cougars spotted the Dodgers a first half goal and then scored 12 consecutive goals. Maggie O’Neill had two goals and two assists and Emily Wingate, Abby Morgan and Morgan Sullivan scored two goals each for Chatham (2-0). Amanda DaSilva scored twice for the Dodgers (1-1).

Morris Catholic 18, Newark Academy 8

Hannah Driscoll and Lexi Finn connected for four goals each to lift the Crusaders (1-1). Rachel Mills also added three goals and four assists and Rachel Petruska had a hat trick.

Morris Hills 15, Union Catholic 12

The Scarlet Knights are 1-0. Kyleigh Miller scored five goals in the home win. Casey Lyness scored four goals and Kellyann Gangaware had a hat trick for Morris Hills.

Cranford 13, Pequannock 12

The Golden Panthers drop to 0-2. Arden Kassalen had five goals and one assist and Danielle Musto fired a hat trick.

Montville 8, Scotch Plains – Fanwood 7

Zoe Tabakin scored four goals and Claudia Trionfo had a hat trick for the Mustangs (1-0).

Oak Knoll 15, Villa Walsh 3

Annie Collett, Caroline Hetzel and Lauren Longo scored goals for the Vikings.

Verona 13, Jefferson 3

Kendra Nolan, Danielle Pickard and Jenna Prezwodek connected for the Falcons (0-2).

Rutgers Prep 16, St. Elizabeth 6

Rutgers led 7-3 at the half. The Panthers are 0-2.

BOYS LACROSSE

Montville 10, Boonton 8

Montville rallied from a 5-4 halftime deficit. Austin Van Zant had two goals and an assist and Nick Lourick and Frank Rao scored two goals each for the Bombers.
