Mountain Lakes boys romp in MCT quarterfinals


Senior midfielder Christian Cuccinello had four goals and two assists to help Mountain Lakes pound Mendham 16-7 in the quarterfinal round of the boys lacrosse Morris County Tournament on Wednesday.

Brad Smith and Ryan Frawley each registered four goals and two assists and Zander Kotsen had two goals and two assists. Mountain Lakes took control early with an 8-0 first-quarter explosion. The second-seeded team advances to play the winner of Thursday’s game between Chatham and West Morris.

Regular Season

Roxbury 15, Mount Olive 11

Amanda Beal had five goals and one assist to fuel the Gaels triumph. Chelsea Artigliere and Kayla Lucia also registered hat tricks and Katie Cikovski scored twice for Roxbury. Sarah McEvoy and Grace Kim scored three goals apiece for the Marauders.

Morris Knolls 8, Morris Catholic 5

Ally Black had three goals and one assist to pace the Golden Eagles. Giulia Vitolo added two goals and keeper Tito Adetula stopped six shots. Taylor Shannahan and Rachel Petruska scored two goals each for the Crusaders.

Union Catholic 9, St. Elizabeth 8

Julia Darcy scored five times and Danielle Arace, Megan Dowd and Emilia Scalaro added goals for the Panthers.
