Villa, Mendham, Chatham advance in girls MCT

Taylor Medd registered five goals and one assist and Christina Pallitto scored four goals to lift Villa Walsh to a 14-11 triumph over Kinnelon in first round Morris County Tournament action on Saturday.. Kelly Holt and Katie Kelly scored two goals each to lift sixth-seeded Villa Walsh. The Vikings face third-seeded Chatham in the quarterfinals. Ana Berezni and Ashley Bobinski had hat tricks for the 11th-seeded Colts.

Mendham 13, Roxbury 5

The Minutemen led 6-1 at the half. Christine Graziano scored five goals, Becky Gohsler notched a hat trick and Meri Curtin and Christine Long scored two goals apiece for second-seeded Mendham. Amanda Beal scored twice for the 15th-seeded Gaels.

Chatham 18 , Pequannock 4

Maddy Bowles had four goals and three assists to spark the third-seeded Cougars. Bridget Ballard had four goals and two assists and Alex Frenzel notched a hat trick for Chatham. Alyssa Tachon had three goals and an assist for the Golden Panthers.

Pat Sauerborn had two goals and an assist and Tyler Chin also scored twice to pace the Mustangs.

Mountain Lakes 8, Bridgewater-Raritan 5

Christian Cuccinello had two goals and two assists, Ryan Frawley added two goals and Brad Smith and Brad Landry each had a goal and two assists for the Lakers.

Chatham 9, Hunterdon Central 7

David Gill had two goals and two assists and Evan Bernard and Scott Lynch also notched a pair of goals for the Cougars.

Bergen Catholic 8, Kinnelon 5

Bergen Catholic led 6-3 at the half. Steve Landspurg and Joe Neggia scored two goals apiece for the Colts.

MCT

Randolph 18, Morris Catholic 1

J.P. Southren had five goals and one assist to lift the Rams in a late Friday MCT contest. Jake Southren had three goals and three assists, T. J. Lindquist had two goals and three assists and Zach Evans had two goals. The 13th-seeded team face fourth-seeded Morristown-Beard in the next round.
