Morris Knolls boys, Roxbury, Mo-Cath girls advance in MCT


Andrew Yenesel and Reed Pelliconi each scored twice to lift Morris Knolls to a 7-2 victory over Park Regional in preliminary round Morris County Tournament play.

Sean Lorenz also scored twice for the Golden Eagles which had a tentative 3-1 advantage at the half. Morris Knolls, the 13th seed, faces fourth-seeded Morristown-Beard in the opening round.

Regular Season

Montville 7, West Milford 3

Tyler Chin scored four goals and Graham Jespersen scored twice for the Mustangs. Montville held a 4-2 advantage at the half.

Randolph 10, Sparta 9, OT

Mike Turner connected off a T. J. Lindquist feed with 2:15 left in overtime to lift the Rams. Randolph rallied from a 5-2 halftime deficit. The Rams took the lead in the third quarter and the Spartans rallied back with a pair of late fourth-quarter goals. Sparta’s Owen Mead scored off a Zach Eberding pass to tie the game at 9-all with 33 seconds left in regulation.


Roxbury 15, Boonton 5

Amanda Beal and Jenna Kaijala each fired hat tricks for the Gaels. Brianna Frias and Laura Gormley each scored twice for the 18th-seeded Bombers. The 15th-seeded Gaels led 11-2 at the half. Roxbury faces No. 2 Mendham in the next round.

Morris Catholic 19, Park Regional 5

The Crusaders led 11-1 at the half. Senior midfielder Taylor Shannahan scored four times, Rachel Mills and Sarah Shirkey had hat tricks and Lexi Finn had two goals and five assists for Morris Catholic. The 13th-seeded Crusaders face fourth-seeded West Morris  in the next round. Melissa Wamp had a hat trick for 20th-seeded Park.

Randolph 16, Mount Olive 15

Jefferson 14, West Milford 4

The Falcons improve to 12-0 o the season. They also led 12-0 at the half.

Mountain Lakes 18, West Morris 5

Victoria Kalamaras notched four goals and four assists to pace the Lakers. Granger Rosati added four goals and Jackie Perry and Sarah Bedard each fired hat tricks for Mountain Lakes. Chelsea Orban scored twice for the Wolfpack.

Morris Hills 8, North Warren 7

The Scarlet Knights led 7-4 at the half and held on for the win.

North Hunterdon 18, Morristown 10

Meghan Siverson had a hat trick for the Colonials. North Hunterdon led 11-3 at the half.
