Mendham wins; Cuccinello sparks Mtn. Lakes

Senior midfielder Will Robinson scored four goals and Drew Robshaw and Tim Gillespie fired hat tricks to lift Mendham to a 16-9 triumph over Montville in boys lacrosse action on Saturday.

Chandler Avallone had two goals and five assists for the Minutemen (2-2). It was the Minutemen’s first home game of the season since their turf field was resurfaced this spring. Mendham took control early and led 7-2 at the half. Graham Jasperson scored four times and Tyler Chin had two goals and an assist for the Mustangs (4-3)

Mountain Lakes 15, Madison 3

Christian Cuccinello had three goals and three assists including his 100th point. Brad Smith had three goals and an assist and Jason Wolpov and Ryan Frawley each notched a pair of goals for Mountain Lakes. A. J. Schmitz, Christian Scarpello and Justin Dalena scored goals for Madison.

Jefferson 10, Park Regional 6

Jorgenson Kyle had four goals, and Peyton Fasse scored twice and picked up 11 ground balls for the Falcons. Brendan Gill scored twice and Garrett Richards had a goal and an assist for the Falcons. Seth Wadleigh had two goals and two assists for Park.

Caldwell 13, Pequannock 12

Liam Lilienthal had five goals and one assist to pace the Golden Panthers. The Chiefs were victorious in the first Michael Coppola Memorial Trophy Game. The contest honors Coppola a former Golden Panthers player who died of a from of blood cancer.

Dan Duffy had two goals and two assists and Hunter Soden notched a pair of goals for Pequannock (5-2). Caldwell scored five consecutive goals in the third quarter to take a commanding lead. The Golden Panthers rallied from a 10-7 fourth-quarter deficit to make it close.

Old Bridge 9, Morris Knolls 8, 3OT

Old Bridge’s Sean Olsen notched the game-winning goal. Shane Dougherty had a hat trick and Andrew Yenesel had a goal and four assists for the Golden Eagles.

Morris Hills 12, Wallkill Valley 1

Conor Pelkey fired a hat trick, Zach Berkowitz had two goals and four assists and Derek Zacatenco had two goals and three assists for the Scarlet Knights.

Randolph 13, Vernon 4

Jake Southren had four goals and three assists, J.P. Southren had three goals and three assists and Mike Turner had four goals for the Rams. Randolph took control early and led 6-2 at the half.

Pope John 7, Roxbury 4

Phil Caltagirone and Will Doran had a goal and an assist each for the Gaels. It’s the first loss of the season for Roxbury (7-1).

Salesianum (Del.) 5, Chatham 4

Will Barnett had two goals and an assist, and Rich Berger and Austin Pierce each had a goal and an assist for the Cougars. Matt Grilli stopped 10 shots in the contest held at the Cancer Classic in Haverford, Pa.

Lenape Valley 15, Morris Catholic 2
