Mendham, Delbarton boys, Villa Walsh girls triumph in openers


Will Robinson scored four goals including the game-winning score in overtime to lift Mendham to an 8-7 triumph over Westfield on Wednesday. Drew Robshaw also scored twice for the Minutemen (1-0).

Delbarton 10, Seton Hall Prep 9
The Green Wave earned the win against the team that knocked them out of state play last year. Delbarton rallied from a 9-8 deficit late in the fourth quarter. Emmet Cordrey fed Will McCarthy for a tying goal with 29 seconds left in regulation.
J.J. McBride connected off a feed from Cordrey for the game-winner seven seconds into overtime.
Chatham 12, Morristown 5
James Sullivan fired a hat trick to pace the Cougars. Austin Pierce had two goals and one assist and Thomas Berger scored twice for Chatham (1-0). Brian Begley had the hat trick for the Colonials (0-1).
Kinnelon 10, Mahwah 3
Nick Labanca fired a hat trick, Robert Lewis had a goal and three assists and Joe Neggia scored twice for the Colts (1-0).
St. Peter’s Prep 11, Randolph 3
Livingston 12, Park Regional 2
Girls Lacrosse
Villa Walsh 14, Morristown 10
Christina Pallitto scored seven goals to fuel the Vikings’ triumph. Taylor Medd added four goals and an assist for Villa Walsh (1-0). Allie Ferrera scored four times for the Colonials (0-1).
Montville 10, Morris Knolls 8
Nicole Dvoretsky scored five times for the Mustangs. Abby Haimson added four goals and an assist for Montville (1-0). Jacie Cooper and Giaci Vitolo each scored twice for the Golden Eagles (0-1).
Kinnelon 11, Indian Hills 8
Talia Price had three goals and three assists and Victoria Bobinski and Ashley Bobinski also fired hat tricks for the Colts (1-0).
Montclair 15, Pequannock 4
Alyssa Tachon scored twice for the Golden Panthers.
Madison 18, Millburn 4
Ari Goret had four goals and an assist, Michelle Montagna had a hat trick and Molly Fishter had two goals and four assists for the Dodgers (1-0).
Mountain Lakes 13, Chatham 6
Victoria Kalamaras scored five goals and Jackie Perry fired a hat trick for the Lakers (1-0). Maddy Bowles and Emily Wingate scored two goals apiece for the Cougars (1-0).
Morris Catholic 16, Randolph 3
Sarah Shirkey had five goals and two assists, Leah Finn had three goals and four assists and Taylor Shannahan and Rachel Mills each registered hat tricks. Dana Shalit scored twice for the Rams.
