Roxbury girls, Montville girls, boys prevail


Joelle Manganella scored five goals and Jamie Kendelski added four goals to lift Roxbury to a 16-11 triumph over Jefferson in girls lacrosse action on Friday.

The Gaels pulled away with a 9-4 second-half effort. Amanda Beal added a hat trick for Roxbury (10-4). Darby Nolan scored six times for the Falcons (15-4).

Pequannock 13, Holy Angels 12

Jess Rigoglioso scored five goals to lift the Golden Panthers in a close contest. Ashley Tachon, Christine Richard, Alyssa Tachon and Danielle Musto scored two goals apiece for Pequannock (8-8).

Montville 18, DePaul 5

Abby Haimson scored nine goals to lift the Mustangs. Ashley Bello added four goals and Sam Press scored twice for Montville (9-6). The Mustangs pulled ahead with a 12-3 second half.

Mount St. Dominic 18, St. Elizabeth 4

Carolyn Byrnes, Julia Darcy, Alex Dibrigida and Melissa Nichols connected for the Panthers.

Boys Lacrosse

Montville 14, Nutley 7

Jake Haimson scored four goals and Jake Drexl had three goals and scooped up 12 ground balls for the Mustangs. Tyler Chin added two goals and an assist for Montville (7-7).
