Kinnelon boys, Morris Catholic girls win on late goals

Bobby Lewis scored with 15 seconds remaining in regulation to provide the game-winning goals in Kinnelon’s 10-9 win over Ridgewood in boys lacrosse action on Tuesday.

Lewis finished with three goals and one assist and John Belanger scored twice including the tying goal with 1:54 remaining in regulation. The Colts trailed 8-4 after three quarters but rallied with six consecutive fourth-quarter goals.

Morris Knolls 12, Roxbury 7

The Golden Eagles led 9-3 at the half. Sean Walsh had two goals and an assist for the Gaels (5-6).

Chatham 10, West Essex 9, OT

Thomas Guida scored 55 seconds into overtime to secure the Cougars triumph. Guida had four goals and Sam Carson had a goal and two assists for Chatham (9-3). West Essex rallied to make a game of it with five consecutive fourth-quarter goals.

Millburn 13, Morristown 3

Brian Begley had two goals and one assist and Chris Drake added a goal for the Colonials (3-7).

Mahwah 9, Montville 8

The contest was tied 7-7 after three quarters. The Mustangs dropped to 6-5.

Delbarton 17, West Morris 6

Kevin Lewis had three goals and three assists and Tom Fowler had three goals to pace the Green Wave. Grant VanFossen added two goals and three assists and Austin Williams had nine ground balls for unbeaten Delbarton. The Green Wave led 11-2 at the half.

Mendham 7, Voorhees 4

Two fourth quarter goals helped the Minutemen improve to 5-7.

Boonton 15, Passaic Valley 4

Ian Taylor had five goals and two assists and Drew Recchia had three goals and one assist to fuel the Bombers (5-4).

Bergen Catholic 10, Mountain Lakes 6

Bergen’s 5-1 third quarter effort made it a 7-3 game. Christian Cuccinello had a goal and two assists and Chris Sammaro had a goal and an assist for the Lakers (7-2).

Girls Lacrosse

Madison 21, Verona 19

Michelle Montagna had six goals and one assist, Ari Goret added four goals and Sophie Smith contributed a hat trick for the Dodgers (11-2).

Morris Catholic 11, Mount Olive 10

The Crusaders led 8-4 at the half and held on for the win. Rachel Mills scored the game winner with 1:07 left. The Morris Catholic freshman fired a hat trick and Tina Nassany added three goals for the Crusaders (7-7). Francesca Verrone had four goals for the Marauders (4-9).

Morristown 13, Pequannock 10

Casey O’Brien scored five goals and Brady Heher scored four times to pace the Colonials (9-2). Jess Rigoglioso and Arden Kassaleh posted hat tricks and Christine Richard had two goals and two assists for the Golden Panthers (5-7). Pequannock led 7-6 at the half.

Summit 11, Mendham 8

Becky Gohsler and Devon Russell each garnered hat tricks for the Minutemen (8-4).

Roxbury 13, Pascack Valley 9

Joelle Manganella scored four times and Hali Gruber and Emily Guderian scored two goals apiece for the Gaels.

Hanover Regional 8, Kittatinny 6

Park led 7-3 at the half. Katie Hunt had a goal and two assists for Hanover Regional (4-7).

Villa Walsh 13, Columbia 8

Candace Pallitto had six goals and one assist to lift the Vikings. Taylor Medd and Christina Pallitto each added two goals and an assist for Villa Walsh (10-2).

West Essex 16, Morris Knolls 5

Jaime Chapman and Haleigh Schroth scored two goals each for the Golden Eagles.

Chatham 12, Westfield 9

The Cougars broke a four-game losing streak. Lauren Maiorano had three goals and two assists and Kristen Maiorano scored twice for the Cougars (5-7).
