Villa Walsh’s Pallitto reaches 200-goal milestone

Candace Pallitto passed the 200-goal varsity career milestone during Villa Walsh’s 15-2 triumph over Governor Livingston on Wednesday in a game at Berkeley Heights.

Pallitto scored eight goals and Taylor Medd had two goals and two assists for the Vikings which outshot the Highlanders 24-4. Villa Walsh took an 11-0 lead at the half. The win lifts the Vikings to 4-1 on the season.

The Georgetown-bound midfielder and Chatham resident is also known for her success on the basketball court for the Vikings. She has improved in her ability to put the lacrosse ball in the net each season. She scored 71 goals and 23 assists in her junior season and 62 goals and 14 assists as a sophomore.

Her eight-goal effort was her second largest scoring output of the season. She notched a 11-goal game to start the season in Villa Walsh’s 16-14 triumph over Mount St. Dominic on April 1. She currently has 27 goals and seven assists. She is also credited with 16 ground balls this season.
