U.S.Team registers bounce-back victory


Kyle Keenan scored four goals to help the U.S. team register a 20-1 bounce back victory over England in the Federation of International Lacrosse Under-19 World Championships in Turku, Finland on Sunday.

Matt Kavanaugh added two goals and two assists and 12 players in all scored goals for the U.S team which absorbed its first loss in the history of the tournament when it suffered an 11-9 overtime defeat against Canada on Saturday. The loss broke a strong of 37 consecutive victories for U.S. teams dating back to the first tournament in 1988.

Former Immaculata standout Ralph D’Agostino and former St. Augustine Prep player Steven Pantrello each scored goals for the U.S. team. The national squad will have its first day off on Monday and then face the Iroquois nation on Tuesday in its final pool play contest.
