After posting outstanding scholastic season’s Mendham’s Nicole Graziano and Aly Messinger and Chatham’s Jaclyn Leto were selected All-American’s by US Lacrosse recently.

                                                Mendham’s Nicole Graziano

Graziano will join her sister Erin at the University of Florida in the fall. The senior midfielder finished the season with 84 goals and 10 assists despite missing a few games with back injuries. Mendham so dominated their opponents during the course of the season that Graziano often saw little playing time in the second half of most games. She is part of the Morris County Tournament championship team that took Moorestown to five overtimes in the Group III final.

                                                   Mendham’s Aly Messinger

Messinger, a junior attack player, has terrific quickness and a great first step. Her skills were best put on display in the Morris County Tournament finals when she scored seven goals and even helped the school’s bus driver get the Minutemen to the field in time for the game. Messinger had 74 goals and 37 assists on an offense that averaged more than 13 goals a game. She is pledged to attend the Universityof North Carolina in the fall of 2012. She also helped Mendham (18-3) to a Morris County Tournament title and an appearance in a classic Group III final.

                                                   Chatham’s Jaclyn Leto

Leto was highly recruited before selecting to attend Dartmouth in the fall of 2012. She registered 96 goals, 42 assists and 121 ground balls. She is also a tremendous defensive player and often used stick checks to create goal scoring possessions for herself.  With her help, Chatham finished 20-5 and advanced to the semifinals of the Tournament of Champions. She scored seven goals in Chatham’s Group II final triumph against Rumson-Fair Haven.

US Lacrosse awarded New Jersey 15 All-Americans in all. The recipients were selected by committee. A complete list can be found on Laxpower and US Lacrosse websites.
