Mendham earns top seed in MCT Tournament

MONTVILLE– Mendham was chosen as the top seed in the girls lacrosse Morris County Tournament seeding meeting held at Montville High School on Thursday.

Mountain Lakes was selected the second seed followed by Chatham and West Morris. Morris Knolls, Villa Walsh,Madison and Montville round out the top eight teams in the tournament.

Outbracket games for the 20-team event will be held by Wednesday, April 20th with the opening round to be completed by Saturday, April 23 at the site of the higher seeded team.

Quarterfinals are scheduled to be played by Saturday, April 30 and the semifinals by Saturday, May 7. The championship game is scheduled for Wednesday, May 11 in 7:30 p.m. start atRoxburyHigh School.

Upper bracket

Winner of No. 17 Pequannock (0-4) at No. 16 Mount Olive (4-1) plays at No. 1 Mendham (4-1).

No. 9 Kinnelon (1-2) plays at No. 8 Montville (3-1).

No. 12 Randolph (1-4) plays at No. 5 Morris Knolls (3-0).

Winner of No. 20 Morris Hills (0-4) at No. 13 Roxbury (0-5) plays at No. 4 West Morris (3-3).

Lower bracket

Winner of No. 19 St. Elizabeth (2-1) at No. 14 Jefferson (6-0) plays at No. 3 Chatham (4-2).

No. 11 Morristown (2-3) plays at No. 6 Villa Walsh (6-1).

No. 10 Morris Catholic (2-4) plays at No. 7 Madison (3-3).

Winner of No. 18 Park Regional (3-2) at No. 15 Morristown-Beard (0-5) plays at No. 2 Mountain Lakes (2-2).
